The Water Crisis in Israel will be discussed at the Roberta Barkan Memorial Lecture presented by the Jewish Studies Program at Purchase College and co-sponsored by the Jewish National Fund. The talk takes place on March 8 at 7:30 PM in the Natural Science Building lecture hall. Admission is free.
The speaker, Colonel Sharon Davidovich, is a world recognized expert on the water issues that Israel faces today. He will discuss long term projects to alleviate the water crisis in Israel and neighboring countries.
Colonel Sharon Davidovich is the National Director of the Jewish National Fund’s Parsons Water Fund. For 23 years he served in the Israeli Defense Forces, including as Commander of the Nahal Division, one of Israel’s leading military units. He has actively participated in negotiations with the Palestinian Authority and has been involved in implementing agreements with them.
The Roberta Barkan Memorial Lecture is the highlight event presented during the academic year by the Purchase College Jewish Studies program.
