Jon Faddis Performs Tribute to Dave Brubeck at Kennedy Center Honors

Jon Faddis performed on stage with other jazz musicians at the 32nd annual Kennedy Center Honors as a tribute to jazz great Dave Brubeck.

Jon Faddis was among the musicians who honored Dave Brubeck at this year’s Kennedy Center Honors. He performed on stage and joined musicians Herbie Hancock, Miguel Zenon, Bill Charlap, Christian McBride and Michael Stewart.

Brubeck’s sons Darius, Chris, Matthew, and Dan also played, as did the U.S. Army Band’s Jazz Ambassadors. The event also celebrated Mr. Brubeck’s 89^th birthday.

The ceremony took place December 6 at the Kennedy Center and was broadcast as a two-hour CBS television special on December 29.

Other honorees at the 32^nd annual Kennedy Center Honors included Mel Brooks, Grace Bumbry, Robert DeNiro and Bruce Springsteen.
