Design/Technology Professor David Grill Lights Up Super Bowl XLII

David Grill, associate professor of lighting in the Design/Technology program, was the lighting designer for Super Bowl XLII’s halftime show starring Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. This is the sixth Super Bowl halftime show Professor Grill has lit.

Grill received a 2002 Emmy Award for Outstanding Lighting Direction for his work on the 2002 Winter Olympics. He was the Lighting Director for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies.

Grill has also designed lighting for theatre, dance, television, video and industrials, taking him from the Great Wall of China to the Great Stage of Radio City Music Hall.
