Pieces have been chosen for their excellence, but also with a view toward reflecting the wide array of approaches to furniture making across the state. They are diverse in style and historical precedent, but also in production methods, materials and place of origin. The show is sponsored by the Furniture Society in conjunction with the School of Art+Design. The opening coincides with the first day of the Furniture Society’s annual three-day conference, which is being held this year at Purchase College. Richard & Dolly Maass Gallery, Art+Design Bldg. For gallery hours, 914-251-6750. For more information, 914-251-6763, ext. 1.
