Dr. David Ehrenfeld is an author and Professor of Biology in the Dept. of Ecology, Evolution, and Natural Resources at the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences, Cook Campus, Rutgers University. He has written books including Becoming Good Ancestors: How We Balance Nature, Community, and Technology, Beginning Again: People and Nature in the New Millennium, and Swimming Lessons: Keeping Afloat in the Age of Technology.

Art+Design Lecture: Robert Taplin, Sculptor

Robert Taplin is a sculptor and writer whose most recent exhibition, "Everything Imagined Is Real (After Dante)" opened in Chelsea at Winston Wachter Fine Arts on January 8, 2008. The entire show will be part of an upcoming exhibition at MASSMOCA , "These Days: Elegies For Modern Times" opening on April 4. The show consists of nine large dioramas, loosely based on the first nine cantos of Dante's "Inferno".

Art+Design Lecture: Stephan Farrall, Graphic Designer

Stephen Farrell is a graphic designer, typographer and collaborative writer. With Steve Tomasula, he recently released the imagetext novel, VAS: An Opera in Flatland (University of Chicago Press, 2004). Stephen has been featured in over 50 books and journals internationally including American Book Review, The Review of Contemporary Fiction, Emigre, Typegraphics, Design Culture Now, Metropolis, eye (UK) and Wired. He has exhibited his work most recently at the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum, at the Art Directors Club of New York and as The Volgare Project, a collection of multimedia essays, music and type design investigating his interests in lineage, connoisseurship and the relationship of writing to keystroking.
